Founded in 1619 by Edward Alleyn, a famous Elizabethan and Jacobean actor, Dulwich College has a long tradition of academic excellence and innovation. In 2003, with the formation of Dulwich College Management International (DCMI), it created a partnership to develop schools overseas and bring a Dulwich education to students around the world. Through DCMI, Dulwich College has established five Colleges for international students in Shanghai, Beijing, Suzhou, Seoul and Singapore, as well as two Dulwich International High Schools in Suzhou and in Zhuhai. The international Colleges offer an enhanced English National Curriculum leading to IGCSE and, where accredited, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The two Dulwich International High Schools offer four-year and accelerated three-year IGCSE and Alevel courses. The Dulwich International High Schools cater primarily for Chinese students wishing to study at university abroad.
Dulwich College International schools are academically selective, co-educational and secular. In all Dulwich College International schools the primary language of instruction is English with Dual Language learning in English and Mandarin for students from age two to seven at the Colleges in Shanghai, Beijing, Suzhou and Singapore. All schools offer 'English as an Additional Language' support for a percentage of students who are non-native English speakers.
The Dulwich College International approach to education blends the best approaches from Eastern and Western traditions; firmly rooted in academic rigour yet invested in developing the individual. The Dulwich College International family of schools report academic results that position them as some of the best performing schools locally, regionally, and internationally. The students' achievements are reflected in the university acceptances and scholarships that graduates receive every year.
Dulwich College International network caters for over 6,000 students, with over 60 different nationalities are represented in the diverse student body. As a group, Dulwich College International employs over 1,300 talented members of staff from across the globe, over half of whom are teachers.
