ISH Primary School

The International School of The Hague aims to provide high quality primary and secondary education for students of all nationalities. The school encourages and supports its students in all areas of their work and development. The ISH is a caring and friendly environment in which young people can discover their full potential in a truly international context.

ISH is a community school whose core values are based on honesty, fairness and respect. It seeks to foster global awareness in its students, and an understanding of international interdependence. ISH believes this is best achieved by pursuing academic success and developing physical and creative ability using international curricula, as well as working in partnership with its students and their families.

ISH recognizes importance of Mother Tongue languages and supporting their development, as well as valuing the language and culture of The Netherlands as a rich learning resource. The school encourages its students to take part in a range of activities outside the formal curriculum to promote a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle. One aspect of this is that Competitive or not, in teams or individually, sports is an integral part of the ISH's commitment to developing the minds and bodies of its learners. Likewise the Malcolm Davies Music School provides students ample opportunities to explore music as well as to experience performing, and showcasing their talents.

ISH Secondary School

Surrounded by green, with the ocean only a few minutes away the school is situated in an ecologically aware environment: an inspiring place from which to embark on a lifelong learning experience.

The International School of The Hague (ISH), both Primary & Secondary, is part of the Rijnlands Lyceum Foundation, an educational organisation for secondary and primary education in The Hague and Leiden area. The schools within the foundation offer national and international programmes. The six schools which are part of this organization are overseen by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Rijnlands, Dr Maarten Knoester. As a partially subsidised school, which besides receiving fees from parents, is also supported by the Ministry of Education, ISH operates in accordance with the rules and regulations for Primary & Secondary education in the Netherlands.
