Focus on Early Years

Building on this tradition of academic excellence, AIS has launched an enhanced, specialist Early Years curricula for 18 months to 5 years, including daily maths, Mandarin, the weekly Accelerated Literacy Program, weekly violin lessons from age 3, and the SMART Steps physical education program. Also, LAMDA, the oldest drama school in the UK with 150 years of proven experience, delivers AIS' Early Years Speech and Drama program, also from age 3, nurturing the ability to be confident speakers with a varied and rich vocabulary.

To complement the Early Years curriculum, AIS is building a new state-of-the-art campus complete with a 22m swimming pool, a large sports gym, 5 library and learning resource centers, 9 arts and language specialist classrooms in one centrally-located facility, 10 minutes from Orchard, in 2017.

Differentiated Learning in Elementary School

The AIS PYP International Baccalaureate transdisciplinary and challenging curriculum, from pre-school to Grade 5, uses a differentiated approach in the classroom, particularly in mathematics. Under Professor Peter Sullivan guidance, Australia's leading expert in maths education (and a dedicated Elementary Maths Coordinator), AIS uses research-informed strategies to ensure each child is challenged in the pursuit of academic excellence.

Creating Choice in Secondary School

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and the Australian Higher School Certificate offer choice in curriculum to suit your child's future path, be it to universities in Australia or globally. The IGCSE, in Years 9 & 10, delivers academic rigour in preparation for these high challenge programs.

Global Languages and Mother Tongue Program

AIS' dedicated Global Languages and Mother Tongue program develops second language proficiency while celebrating our rich cultural diversity of over 50 nationalities. Daily Mandarin begins at age 2 in Nursery, progressing into a choice of Indonesian, French, Mandarin or Spanish Ab-initio in Secondary. Students also have the option of learning their native language as part of our progressive, high-level Mother Tongue Program. While the Mother Tongue Program is highly popular with AIS's Japanese and Korean-speaking students, it is offered in any language requested by families.

Inspiring Innovation with Inventors and Mentors

A series of guest lectures and round table discussions with international thought leaders and experts, including 3 Nobel Laureates and 5 elite sports stars, inspires AIS students. Recent mentors to join AIS include Dr Mohamed ElBaradei, 2005 Nobel Laureate for Peace, Australian professional tennis player, Nick Kyrgios and Richard James Gill OAM, internationally renowned conductor and music educator.
