Cambridge International Education (Cambridge) has released the results of its November 2024 exam series to more than 200,000 students worldwide. Overall, entries for Cambridge International AS & A Level, IGCSE and O Level qualifications grew by 7% on November 2023, with 475,075 exam entries in total from 4061 schools in 137 countries. Taken together with the June 2024 exam series, the increase reflects a growth in international education. More students took Cambridge exams in 2024 than in any previous year.Cambridge IGCSE has long been established as the world’s most popular international curriculum for 14- to 16-year-olds, and today Cambridge IGCSE and O Level results were released to more than 111,000 students worldwide. There was a rise of 10% in entries for Cambridge IGCSE, resulting in the largest ever November exam series for the qualification, with 273,271 entries in total.Cambridge International AS & A Level results from the November 2024 series were released on 9 January to more than 92,000 students worldwide. Entries for Cambridge International AS & A Level grew by 7% on November 2023, with 165,011 entries in total from 2662 schools.The November exam series is most popular with schools in or near the Southern Hemisphere, including Zimbabwe, Malaysia, and South Africa. New Zealand (up 21%) and China (up 19%) showed some of the strongest growth. Mathematics remains the most popular subject across the board, with an increase of 19% in entries at Cambridge International AS & A Level on November 2023. The data also show that more students are choosing subjects which increase their employability skills, putting them in a strong position to take up global opportunities:• Business Studies was the fifth most popular subject at Cambridge International AS & A Level, and entries for Computer Science rose by 10%.
• At Cambridge IGCSE, entries for Computer Science increased by 20%; Accounting by 13% and Business Studies by 10%.
• Entries for Cambridge IGCSE Global Perspectives, which focuses on development of skills to help students be ready for the world, rose by 18%.
