Ireland’s employment boom attracts recruitment firm

Ireland’s draw on businesses planning to set up in Europe continues to grow as a result of an increasingly strong local economy and the on-going affects of Brexit.

Jobs growth in Ireland is booming, with the Central Bank predicting an additional 89,000 people will be hired in Ireland over the next two years, bringing employment to 2.3 million – past peak levels witnessed in 2007.

Ireland a growing European hub

In response to increasing demand Guidant Group, an international managed services and recruitment process outsourcing company, has joined forces with sister company, Dublin and Limerick-based Irish Recruitment Consultants (IRC), are to launch Guidant IRC in Ireland. The decision to launch the brand in Ireland comes following news that the country’s economy grew three times faster than any other European economy in 2017, which the EU Commission has, in part, attributed to a surge in multinational companies expanding into Ireland.

Both existing brands and the new entity are part of Impellam – the UK’s second largest staffing business. IRC has been providing recruitment services in Ireland since 1984, and was one of the first staffing agencies established in market.

Niamh O’Brien, client solutions director at Guidant IRC & Irish Recruitment Consultants (IRC), comments, “A myriad of external factors, not least Brexit, mean that Ireland is an increasingly attractive location to set-up or expand in Europe, and the country’s enterprising business culture coupled with a highly skilled workforce has drawn legions of multinational companies to the country.“In fact, according to IDA Ireland, global companies employ more than 210,000 workers in the country, and this figure only looks set to increase in line with the strength of local economy. “Against this backdrop, there has never been greater need for a highly developed managed service offering to ensure that organisations operating locally have access to the skills they need to maximise the potential that Ireland offers.

“Having worked with IRC for 14 years, and alongside Guidant for the last six, I am delighted to head up the growth strategy across both brands. The opportunities presented by the joint venture are exciting for not only our own team members, but also candidates and existing and potential clients. IRC’s local knowledge, supercharged with Guidant’s MSP experience offers Irish businesses operating across a wide range of sectors the most innovative recruitment solutions.

“IRC and Guidant Group have always shared many of the same values, most notably our commitment to operational excellence and innovation. Guidant Group’s award-winning recruitment outsourcing expertise combined with IRC’s in-depth knowledge of the Irish recruitment market creates a powerful combination, assisting companies to source and secure the volume and quality of talent they need to capitalise on the rapid growth that Ireland is enjoying.”
