ISKL’s Sports Field Achieves FIFA and World Rugby Certification

The International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL) is proud to announce that its newly transformed sports field has officially received certification from both FIFA and World Rugby, making it one of the few fields in Kuala Lumpur to achieve this prestigious dual accreditation.

The full-sized rugby and soccer pitch is part of ISKL’s world-class track and field facility, which includes a regulation 400-meter, 8-lane track. The newly upgraded synthetic turf field, featuring natural infill, meets the highest international standards and is used by professional clubs and leading international schools around the world.This transformation ensures that ISKL students benefit from an outstanding playing surface that:
  • Enhances training and competition – A FIFA and World Rugby-certified pitch designed to support skill development and high-level play.
  • Increases playing hours – Improved durability and drainage allow for year-round use, regardless of weather conditions.
  • Expands school sports programs – Providing greater opportunities for students to train and compete in rugby, soccer, and other sports.
  • Elevates event hosting capabilities – The certification further strengthens ISKL’s ability to host local and international teams for tournaments.

In addition to providing students with a top-tier space for training and competition, the upgraded facility has also been enjoyed by ISKL’s community service partners. On February 8, ISKL’s Middle School Agency program hosted a Football Fiesta tournament, welcoming 60 students from three local refugee schools, Fugee School, the Chin Women’s Organization, and Dignity for Children. Twenty ISKL students took the lead as organizers, referees, and players, fostering an inclusive and spirited event highlighting the power of sports in building connections and creating opportunities for all.ISKL’s newly certified sports field is further complemented by ISKL’s extensive athletic amenities, including:
  • Aquatics Centre featuring a competition-size swimming pool
  • Softball and football fields for training and competition
  • Tennis courts for training and competitive play
  • Indoor fitness center for strength and conditioning
  • Climbing wall for skill development and recreational use
