Click on the cover to access the digital edition. It is twenty years since we published the very first magazine edition of Relocate. Back in 2004 the internet was still relatively new, and the assignee experience was very different.Fast forward to 2024 and the landscape has changed. Organisations can communicate instantly with their teams in any time zone, and globalisation has changed the way we think and work across different geographies.Relocate’s seventeenth annual awards took place in June in the opulent surroundings of Two Temple Place, a stunning neo-Gothic mansion built for William Waldorf Astor in London. At the awards ceremony I posed the question “What are riches?’ Within the grandeur of this iconic building, we saw the outward signs of wealth, power and status. However, I suggested that riches can also be found in health, happiness and a sense of wellbeing. In our Relocate Global community we have a rich and vibrant network of professionals who come from a variety of different cultures and dimensions. Our riches are the satisfaction we get from doing our best work and being part of a strong and supportive global community. For our 20th anniversary edition this Autumn I encourage you to tell us how you view the future and the steps you are taking to lead the way in supporting and grow international people and organisations around the world. Please share your stories and inspiration with us – your input is valuable and appreciated. We celebrated the 20th anniversary of Relocate magazine at the Awards Gala Dinner and Ceremony. The Relocate Awards have grown in stature and this year they were hotly contested. The entries reflected major underlying trends in global mobility and how organisations are responding to challenges and opportunities. The ESG category was particularly well supported and shows how global organisations are striving to make a difference in their policies and strategy. This led to much deliberation from the judges as the very high standard of entries reflected the endeavour and commitment to environmental, social and governance initiatives. Our winner, Arpin International, demonstrated a long-standing vision around ESG including a purpose-built platform to track and report ESG data and performance. It was hugely rewarding to see the growth of entries in the Best Research and Best Book category. Both winners demonstrate an exceptional contribution to global mobility and the management of international employees and expatriates, bringing significant insights and value to leadership teams. The Technology category entries reflected the array of sectors embracing technologies, AI and analytics, and the winner was Working from Anywhere. The Awards revealed, passion, emotion and commitment. You can watch the video highlights for a flavour of the night and read about the winners in the Awards Supplement. This edition of the magazine has been carefully curated to complement the Awards and we have articles on ESG, Sustainability, and the Serviced Apartment sector.Discover how global mobility professions and the service sector are responding to change and the new world of work, learn how technology is impacting our sector, and be inspired by how educators are preparing future generations to take their place in a global world.
